Buy the Piper Top sewing pattern from Christine Haynes. The Piper Top is a modern funnel neck knit top. As easy to sew and wear as a t-shirt, but slightly elevated in style. Inspired by tops of the 1960s, Piper has a funnel neck that you can choose to wear folded or raised as a high turtleneck, set-in sleeves, and an hourglass shape meant to follow but not cling to the curves of the body. Choose between a short sleeve that hits halfway between the shoulder and elbow, or a 3/4-length sleeve that lands above the wrist.

Suggested fabrics: Medium weight 2-way or 4-way stretch knits with at least 2% elastic content, such as ponte, and cotton spandex blends. If planning to leave the funnel neck unfolded, slightly heavier knits like French terry can be used.

Fabric requirements: Fabric requirements assume the greatest stretch is from selvedge to selvedge, with non-directional fabric. Extra fabric may be required for fabric with the greatest stretch from cut end to cut end. Additional fabric may also be required for nap, one-way design, shading, matching design, or shrinkage. Knit fabrics tend to shrink more than woven fabrics, so allow for that when purchasing yardage.
