Buy the Baby/Child Bellbird Dress sewing pattern from Below the Kōwhai. The Bellbird dress features a fully lined bodice with a button and loop closure on the back. Bell sleeves and elastic cuffs give it a vintage silhouette, or go sleeveless for summer. There are in-seam pockets for treasure collecting. The bodice comes with an optional embroidery design and tutorial, or come up with your own design! This dress has been designed with a relaxed fit and plenty of ease to wear a top underneath for winter layering.

Suggested fabrics: 

Main: For summer: cottons, voile, lawn, linen and linen blends, chambray, light denims, etc. For winter: upholstery weight cottons, corduroy, velvet, drill, etc.

Lining: Light to medium weight cotton, poly cotton, voile, etc.

Fabric requirements: 

Main: 120 cm (47″) wide fabric: 1.5 – 2 m (1 2/3 – 2 1/4 yd).

Lining: 0.25 m (1/3 yd).

Sizing: 12 months – 8 years. Please check the size chart and finished garment measurements.

Notions: 0.25 m (1/3 yd) interfacing, similar weight to main fabric; small button for back closure; small elastic for back closure (approx. 5 cm/2″ long) or use ribbon; elastic for sleeve cuff, 1-1.5 cm (1/2″) wide or narrower // Optional: Embroidery cotton; embroidery hoop.

PDF pattern includes: Instructions with full colour photos; A4/US letter print-at-home pattern (19 pages); A0 copy shop pattern (1 sheet); projector pattern. This pattern has layers so you can print just the size(s) you need.
