Buy the Baby/Child Hopscotch Skirt, Knit Top and Dress sewing pattern from Oliver + S. It’s your turn to play. This pattern includes a gathered skirt (designed for woven fabrics) with elastic-back waistband, front button placket, and an interesting pocket detail inspired by the shape of a takeout box. The close-fitting pullover knit top or dress with interesting neckband includes both long- and short-sleeve options. Top and dress are designed only for knits with at least 25% stretch.

Suggested fabrics: Top or Dress: interlock, jersey, textured knit, lightweight double knit, and matte jersey (the knit fabric should have at least 25% stretch) // Skirt: light- to medium-weight woven fabrics like quilting cotton, broadcloth, shirting, poplin, fine-wale corduroy, twill, denim, chambray, and linen.

Fabric requirements: 44″ – 45″ (112 – 114 cm) wide woven fabric // 60″ (152 cm) wide knit fabric:

6 months – 4 years: View A, 3/4 yard (0.7 m) // View B, 3/4 – 1 yard (0.7 – 0.9 m) // View C, 3/4 – 1 yard (0.7 – 0.9 m).

5 – 12 years: View A, 3/4 – 1 1/2 yards (0.7 – 1.4 m) // View B, 1 – 1 1/4 yards (0.9 – 1.2 m) // View C, 1 – 1 1/4 yards (0.9 – 1.2 m).

Sizing: 6 months – 4 years and 5 – 12 years. Please check the size chart and finished garment measurements.

Notions: Thread, lightweight fusible interfacing // Skirt: 3/8″ or 1/2″ buttons (four for sizes 6–24M, five for all other sizes), 1/2 yard of 3/4″-wide elastic.
