Buy the Charlize Dress sewing pattern from Vikisews. Charlize is a close-fitting dress with a sheath silhouette created by front and back princess seams. The front and back have curved band pieces along the armscyes. There are thin straps along the band pieces, attached to the front and back necklines and secured in the shoulder seams. The front pieces feature flaps and an asymmetric lapel. Charlize has a faux double-breasted fastening with buttons and buttonholes. The front and back pieces are finished with a free-hanging lining. The dress features long, set-in, two-piece, fitted sleeves and is above-knee length.

Suggested fabrics: Dress-weight wool, gabardine, wool crepe.

For the lining, the designer recommends artificial fibres (viscose), blends (viscose + elastane, viscose + polyester), or synthetic fibres (polyester, polyester + elastane).

The dress in the cover photo is made of suiting fabric. This material is medium weight, soft, with very little stretch and presses well. The fibre content is a blend: 65% polyester + 35% viscose. The lining is 100% viscose.

Fabric requirements: When purchasing fabric, buy 5% more than required to account for shrinkage.

Main: 140 cm (55″) wide fabric, with a directional print/nap: 1.97 – 2.59 m (2 1/8 – 2 7/8 yd) // 150 cm (59″) wide fabric, with a directional print/nap: 1.76 – 2.45 m (1 7/8 – 2 5/8 yd).

Lining: 140 cm (55″) wide fabric: 0.81 – 0.9 m (7/8 – 1 yd).

Sizing: 34 – 52 (approx. UK 6 – 20, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.

Vikisews patterns are designed for a B/C cup.

The PDF pattern includes 4 height options (PAPER pattern includes height 2 only):

Height 1 = 154 – 160 cm (5’1″ – 5’3″)
Height 2 = 162 – 168 cm (5’4″ – 5’6″)
Height 3 = 170 – 176 cm (5’7″ – 5’9″)
Height 4 = 178 – 184 cm (5’10” – 6′1″)

Model Inna: Height 172 cm (5’8″) / Bust 84 cm (33 1/8″) / Waist 64 cm (25 1/4″) / Hips 94 cm (37″). Inna is wearing size 36 in height 3.

Model Yana: Height 174 cm (5’8″) / Bust 107 cm (42 1/8″) / Waist 87 cm (34 1/4″) / Hips 122 cm (48″). For Yana, the designer combined sizes 48 for the waist and 52 for the hips in height 3.
