Selkie Patterns Celeste Dress and Blouse
£14.50 – £21.50
Buy the Celeste Dress and Blouse sewing pattern from Selkie Patterns. The Celeste Dress and Blouse is destined (written in the stars!) to become your new favourite. It’s a satisfying make with many different sleeve variations to make it your own. With an easy fit and comfy bodice, the Celeste is there for you when you want an elevated look but with the ease and comfort of a smock dress.
The Celeste features a delicate round neckline that sits perfectly on your collarbone, a comfortable yet shapely bodice, gently gathered skirt, back smock details for a modern twist, and an optional collar. Both the dress and blouse fit over your head and do not require a zip. There are four sleeve options: a one-piece bishop sleeve, a two-piece bishop sleeve, an on-trend frill-edged 3/4 length sleeve and a fluted cap sleeve.

Suggested fabrics: Viscose linen, chambray, light and medium weight rayon, Tencel, bamboo, double gauze and crepe de chine. For beginners, try a cotton poplin or lawn for a crisp summer dress that’s easy to handle under the machine. For a luxury look, try a lovely silk dupion, velvet or even a broderie anglaise!
Fabric requirements: Please note the designer does not recommend a fabric width of 110 cm as the sleeve pattern does not fit on a narrow width.
Sizes 6 – 16: 150 cm wide fabric: Blouse, 1.5 m + sleeve and collar fabric requirements // Dress, 2.7 m + sleeve and collar fabric requirements.
Sizes 18 – 32: 150 cm wide fabric: Blouse, 1.6 m + sleeve and collar fabric requirements // Dress, 2.8 m + sleeve and collar fabric requirements.
Sleeves: 150 cm wide fabric: Sleeve 1, 0.5 m // Sleeve 2, 0.9 m // Sleeve 3, 1.2 m // Sleeve 4, 0.6 m.
Optional collar: 150 cm wide fabric: 0.5 m + interfacing.
Sizing: UK 6 – 32. Please check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.
The designer strongly suggests you pick your size based on the bust, as the rest of the garment is non-fitted. Sizes 6 – 16 have been drafted with a B cup. Sizes 18 – 32 have been drafted with a D cup. The 18 – 32 size band has a wider bicep and deeper armhole.
Notions: Matching thread; 2 cm wide elastic, enough for two cuffs if making Sleeve 2 or Sleeve 3; 1 cm wide elastic, enough for two cuffs if making Sleeve 4; hook and eye for back fastening.
PDF pattern includes: Instructions; A4/US letter print-at-home pattern (59 pages); A0 copy shop pattern (3 sheets).
