They have an elastic waist for a comfortable fit and options for a paper bag waist and faux drawstring too. Choose between a tapered or wide leg.

Suggested fabrics: This garment is for all seasons. Light to heavy weight cotton, poly cotton, linen, chambray, corduroy, duck canvas, etc.

Fabric requirements: 

Tapered trousers: 112 cm (44″) wide fabric: Full length, 0.75 – 1.5 m (7/8 – 1 2/3 yd) // 3/4 length, 0.75 – 1.5 m (7/8 – 1 2/3 yd).

Wide trousers: 112 cm (44″) wide fabric: Full length, 0.75 – 2 m (7/8 – 2 1/4 yd) // 3/4 length, 0.75 – 1.75 m (7/8 – 2 yd).

Sizing: 1 – 10 years or 8 – 14 years. Please check the designer’s size chart. Use height as the main measurement.

NOTE: YOU MUST ALSO CHOOSE A LEG WIDTH (TAPERED OR WIDE).

Notions: Coordinating sewing thread; 25 mm (1″) wide non-roll elastic, 39 – 66 cm (15 3/8″ – 26″); small piece of ribbon or twill tape to create back tag // Faux drawstring (optional): 50 cm (20″) of 13 mm (1/3″) twill tape, or as desired.

PDF pattern includes: Instructions with full colour photos; A4/US letter print-at-home pattern (19-24 pages for tapered, 22-27 pages for wide); A0 copy shop pattern (1-2 sheets for tapered, 1-2 sheets for wide); projector pattern. This pattern has layers so you can choose which size(s) to print.
