Buy the Barberry Jacket sewing pattern from Charlotte Emma Patterns. The Barberry Jacket is a shaped slim-fitting jacket with a cinched waist and exaggerated hemline.

Inspired by vintage fashion, Barberry is designed to fit within a modern wardrobe and to be comfortable and easy to wear. Barberry has an eight-panel bodice, notched collar, two-piece sleeves, and a full lining. The instructions will support you to sew all of Barberry’s features, which include welt pockets, pocket flaps, and sleeve vents. Barberry is designed to be worn over a single layer such as a shirt or blouse.

This sewing pattern is available to buy in the following formats:

– PDF (available to download immediately after purchase). What is a PDF?

– PDF pattern + Printed A0 copy shop (We print out the A0 pattern sheets, but you’ll need to download the digital instructions, as we don’t print these. The PDF files will be emailed immediately after purchase, and the A0 pattern sheets will be dispatched next working day). Choose sizes 4-22/B cup or sizes 20-36/D cup. What is Copy Shop?

Suggested fabrics:

Jacket Body: Medium weight suitings or light to medium weight coatings in wool, tweed, brocade or cotton. Due to the bodice seam lines, patterned fabrics which require seam matching are not recommended.

Fabric requirements: All fabric requirements are based on one directional cutting.

Sizing: UK 4 – 36. This pattern includes two size ranges: UK 4 – 22 based on a B cup block (a 2″ difference between your high bust and full bust measurements) and UK 20 – 36 based on a D cup block (a 4″ difference between your high bust and full bust measurements). There is an overlap at sizes 20 – 22 where you can choose which size range you would like to use. Please check the size chart and finished garment measurements.

Barberry is designed to be slim fitting and worn over a single layer such as a shirt or blouse. If you would prefer to wear the jacket over additional layers, take your measurements over your clothing. The designer suggests selecting based on your bust size and grading between sizes as necessary at the waist and hips. The pattern is designed to have a closer fit at the bust and waist, with exaggerated ease at the hips.
