Buy the Baby/Child Woodland Wanderer Coat sewing pattern from Waves & Wild. The Woodland Wanderer is the perfect coat for your woodland adventures! It is designed to use buttons or toggles, with either loops or buttonholes. The back can have a curved or straight hem. There is an option for a large patch pocket. It is also possible to make the coat reversible.

– PDF pattern + Printed A0 copy shop (We print out the A0 pattern sheets, but you’ll need to download the digital instructions, as we don’t print these. The PDF files will be emailed immediately after purchase, and the A0 pattern sheets will be dispatched next working day). What is Copy Shop?

Suggested fabrics:

Outer fabric: Medium/heavy woven fabric, preferably with some stretch or ‘give’, but zero stretch is fine. Great choices include wool blends, corduroy, tweed, etc.

Inner fabric: Anything thick and warm such as sherpa, teddy, short pile faux fur, fleece, etc. You can choose to use a thinner fabric for your lining, but the resulting fit will be different (your finished coat will appear 1/2 to 1 size larger, particularly across the width).

Fabric requirements: 140 cm (55″) wide fabric: Outer and inner (same amount of each), 50 cm – 160 cm (5/8 – 1 7/8 yd).

Yardage is based on directional fabric. If using non-directional fabric, you may require less. If you wish to pattern match, you may require more.

Sizing: 0-3 months – 12 years. Please check the size chart.

Notions: Light/medium interfacing; thinner lining material for optional pockets; buttons or toggles; cord or ribbon if making loop closures.

PDF pattern includes: Instructions; A4/legal/letter print-at-home pattern (20 pages); A0 copy shop pattern (1 sheet); projector pattern. This pattern has layers so you can print just the sizes(s) you need.
