This is my wearable muslin of the Colette Wren Dress (I have also made an unwearable muslin). Fabric definitely makes a big difference in the stability of the surplice bodice! I need to make some more fit adjustments for this to work for me, and I really fought with the elasticated waist resulting in a bit of a wavy waistline.
