Buy the Shift Dress sewing pattern from The Avid Seamstress. The Shift Dress has an elegant silhouette that’s modern, sophisticated and versatile. Perfect for weddings, parties or the office, this dress will create an effortlessly chic look.

The dress has a fitted bodice, fitted sleeves and a pencil skirt with a panel at the bottom front. The back of the skirt has waist pleats and a kick pleat at the bottom. The back bodice is finished with an invisible zip. The pattern also includes optional inner pockets.

What we think: We love the simple shape of this dress and the fact it has pockets makes it a win-win for us! The seam lines at the front also make it perfect for a bit of colour blocking.
