The Florence Dress

Reviewed by redwsews on 5th April, 2018

I made the maxi length Florence dress in a mid weight rayon and was really pleased with the way it turned out. There are some slightly more advanced techniques involved in the button placket and mandarin collar, but the rest of the dress is pretty straightforward.

At 5’7″ I’ve previously felt that SOI patterns can be a little short in the bodice; I lengthened the bodice pattern pieces by 1″ and am happy with the result.

I’m normally a size smaller on the bust than on the waist and hips; in this instance, because of the elasticated waist and stated ease in the hips, I went from my bust size and think the finished fit is spot on.
