Suggested fabrics: Designed with a stripe in mind, the Barcelona Dress would also work well in a plain or printed cloth. Use a woven light to medium dress weight fabric with a soft stable hand such as denims, chambrays, linen, fine wools, brocade. Soft and drapey cloths may require extra ease at the hips to allow for the extra dropping that will occur at the hem, and it may be advisable to omit the pockets.

Fabric requirements: 150 cm (60”) wide fabric: Horizontal stripe, 2.15 m (2 3/8 yd) / Lengthwise stripe, 2.1 m (2 3/8 yd) / Plain, 1.85 m (2 1/8 yd) // 115 cm (44”) wide fabric: Horizontal stripe, 2.8 m (3 1/8 yd) / Lengthwise stripe, 2.65 m (3 yd) / Plain, 2.35 m (2 5/8 yd).

Version A: Matching thread; invisible (concealed) zip, 56 cm (22”) for sizes 8-12 or 60 cm (23 1/2”) for sizes 14-18; lightweight fusible interfacing, 45 cm x 25 cm wide (18” x 10”); hook and eye.

Version B: Matching thread; stay tape, 60 cm (23”); invisible (concealed) zip, 56 cm (22”); lightweight fusible interfacing, 30 cm x 25 cm wide (12” x 10”); hook and eye.
