Pants of Dreams

A review of Megan Nielsen Flint Pants and Shorts

These are most definitely my pants of dreams. Being curvy, I am usually apprehensive making pants, especially ones with a fitted waistband. But I needn’t have worried and I am kicking myself for not making these sooner! They are super chic, so flattering and comfortable (hello secret pyjamas!). I can’t tell you how fabulous they made me feel, but I guess you can tell by my picture!

I had recently made the MN wattle skirt which I adored, and these were a similar construction with that genius pocket closure. The instructions provided are excellent and didn’t leave me scratching my head. A super quick and satisfying sew. Minimal pattern pieces which makes a real statement of your fabric choice. I made mine in this stunning linen viscose; the drapiness lends itself perfectly and is light and airy – great for balmy days.

I bought the Curve version of this pattern, grading a size smaller at the waist and they fit like a dream. Plenty of room for thighs and booty! I didn’t make any adjustments other than doing the flat front hack from the MN blog for a sleeker silhouette and I also decided to keep mine longer so didn’t hem them as high as the pattern suggests. I am really having a love affair with Megan Nielsen patterns at the moment, they just fit me so well!

If anyone was in two minds about making these, especially if like me you gorgeous and curvy, then I cannot recommend these enough!
