Buy the Gypsum Skirt sewing pattern from Sew Liberated. Gypsum is the skirted sister of the Arenite Pants – same ridiculously comfortable waistband and drapey pockets, with more flounce, perfect for twirling through any season. Layer it under or over dresses, wear it with a boxy top or cami, and shorten or lengthen the pattern depending on the season and your style.

View A has unique crescent-shaped pockets, sewn with French seams, and four flat-felled panels. View A is great for adventurous beginners to advanced sewists, or anyone looking to expand their skills. View B is the perfect introduction to garment sewing (or just a quick sew) with the same shape as View A, but with in-seam side pockets and simple front and back panels.

Suggested fabrics: The Gypsum Skirt is designed for woven fabrics. For View A, look for rayon challis, tencel twill, silk noil, or other fabric with fantastic drape. View B can handle a slightly stiffer woven fabric in addition to those recommended for View A. Good possibilities include mid-weight linen, double gauze, cotton ikats, and lightweight denim.

Fabric requirements:

View A: 45″ (115 cm) wide fabric: 3 1/4 yd (3 m) // 54″ (137 cm) wide fabric: Sizes 0-22, 2 3/4 yd (2.5 m) / Sizes 24-34, 3 yd (2.75 m).

View B: 45″ (115 cm) wide fabric: not possible // 54″ (137 cm) wide fabric: Sizes 0-22, 3 1/4 yd (3 m) / Sizes 24-34, 3 1/2 yd (3.2 m).

Sizing: US 0 – 34 (approx. UK 6/8 – 32/34, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.
