Gabrielle Dress

Reviewed by SaraSykopat on 18th June, 2017

Pattern Description:
From the Seamwork side:
The Gabrielle dress is a modern take on the classic skater dress. It features a tied back yoke with a cut-out that lets just the right amount of your upper back peek through.

The princess seams and flared skirt provide a flattering silhouette. This dress features a slight scoop neckline that is complimented by sweet cap sleeves. The Gabrielle dress is fitted through the bust and waist, while the flared skirt swings loosely throughout the hips.

Pattern Sizing:
The pattern comes in a size xs – 3xl

I made a size M based on my messurments, but with a good amount of stretch in the jersey I would size down next time.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?

Yes.

Were the instructions easy to follow?

Yes.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I really like the princessseam body on the jersey knit. This is why I put it as an intermediat, if you have not worked with knit before this should not be your first knitfabric experience. But it gives a great shape. I also loved the twriling effect the panneld skirt gives.

You can not wear a regular bra with this if you care about it showing witch I think is a negative, but I don’t really care.

Fabric Used:
Cotten jersey from stoff and stil.

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:

Non for this pattern.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?

I would, maybe a size smaller and a fabric with less print. Would recomend for a skaterdress with some more interessting detalis.

Conclusion:

I like this dress a lot. Check out my blog for more photos: https://saramadethat.com/2017/06/18/the-gabrielle-dress/
