Falbala blouse

I was really unsure whether I’d want to wear the Falbala Blouse once I finished making it…was I a flouncy sleeve person? The answer is an unwavering YES. I adore the finished blouse and wore it straight away the next day to work (we’ve got a fairly relaxed dress code 😉 ) Now I can fulfil all my dreams and become the fifth member of ABBA.

I found the construction really simple – the instructions are translated from French and there are picture for each step as well as a youtube video (in French but with really easy to follow directions). It’s finished with French seams (obviously…). I did my usual and blended between sizes making it bigger at the hips. My only little niggles is that it’s not that long at the back so kept untucking from my jeans when I was walking (I’d probably lengthen any future makes) and the sleeves are almost too tight so I might go up a size. Made in a cotton lawn from John Lewis…I was just trying to use something in my stash.
