Cami Dress

Reviewed by nightingaleanddolittle on 24th October, 2018

This is the third version of the Cami dress that I’ve made, so it’s safe to say that I like this pattern!
I bought the pattern when it was first released, so the versions that I’ve made are all the shirtwaist version with the fitted bodice (view A in the re-released pattern).
The instructions are very clear – when I first made the dress, I hadn’t been sewing for that long but I didn’t have any trouble with it as far as I can remember (it was a few years ago now!).
The sizing is good, and the only adjustments I needed to make were to add length. That’s fairly standard for me (I’m about 5’8″), but I did have to lengthen slightly more than usual – I added 1.5″ to the bodice (I usually only have to add an inch), and I added 3 inches to the skirt to make it roughly knee length on me.
I’ve made two Cami dresses in cotton poplin, and one in a tartan brushed cotton which is lovely and cosy to wear in the autumn/winter.
