Butterick Misses’ Princess Seam Dresses 6453

I’ve made another one – Oh and I made a massive mistake this time. I managed to line up the CB seam with the side seams instead of the CB. how on earth I didn’t notice when I was working I don’t know. So a huge amount of unpicking was needed.

I sewed the dress without using the instructions as I’ve made it 3 times before. My error was due to rushing and that the fabric frayed so much I lost the notches.

I made this dress for my daughter and sewed it up in a size 10. I ended up taking a bit off the waist to hip at the side seam. This is view B, but I shortened the skirt by about 10cm and flared the skirt to create a subtle A-line shape to the skirt. As I’d made this A-line – I omitted the walking slit, it just wasn’t needed.

I squeezed this out of less than 90cm of 150cm wide fabric. My daughter can’t wait to wear it to her next party.
