Burda Style Jacket & Coat 6736

Reviewed by thepetitepassions on 30th January, 2018

This was my first coat project. I used a Melton wool from Sew Over It and Barbour lining sourced from Croft Mill. It was a simple sew, with only a few pattern pieces. Instead of front patch pockets, I inserted side seam pockets, and I haven’t bothered with a closure like a button because I often wear it open or completely wrapped around me (it’s definitely a warm one!).
The sizing came up really large on me… I took in the side seams and shoulders quite a bit and it’s still too large really, so I would really recommend double checking and pin fitting first. It’s a good one for beginners as there isn’t a lot of specialised skill involved. More details and photos here
