It has options for a knee length or maxi skirt, a shaped or straight bib, and wide or narrow straps that button in front, button in back, tie in front or tie in back!

Suggested fabrics: Lightweight woven fabrics. Fabrics with good drape are best. Cotton lawn, rayon and double gauze are all good choices.

Fabric requirementsYardage is based on directional fabric. If your fabric is non-directional you may need a little less. If you need to pattern match you will need more.

140 cm (55") wide fabric: Knee length, 40 - 180 cm (1/2 - 2 yd) // Maxi, 50 - 240 cm (5/8 - 2 7/8 yd).

Sizing: Preemie/small newborn – 12 years. Please check the size chart.

NotionsSmall amount of fusible interfacing; a maximum of 50 cm (20") of 10 mm (3/8") clear elastic to gather the skirt; a maximum of 30 cm (12") of elastic, 25 mm (1") wide for age 1 and younger, 32 mm (1 1/4") wide for ages 2 - 7, 38 mm (1 1/2") wide for age 8 and older; for bias bound halter neck only, a maximum of 225 cm (89") of 12 mm (1/2") or 15 mm (5/8") bias binding; for button closure only, 1 or 2 buttons.

PDF pattern includes: Instructions; A4/legal/letter print-at-home pattern (8 pages); A0 copy shop pattern (1 sheet); projector pattern. This pattern has layers so you can print just the sizes(s) you need.

A hidden gem of a pattern

This is such a fab little dress pattern. It uses barely any paper for the pattern pieces (I think maybe 4 pages for the bodice and then measurements are given to make the skirt and straps from rectangles).

It comes together really quickly and looks more difficult/ impressive than it is. I've made four so far for my daughter, including one to match one of my dresses - full details on my blog
