THE EDIT: NEW SEWING PATTERN RELEASES – 18 FEBRUARY
Mel Forrest

It’s time for your weekly dose of The Edit: New Sewing Pattern Releases. This blog and vlog highlight some of the new arrivals to hit the shop this week. Kate natters about all the details you need to know so if you’re a pattern nerd like we are, this is for you!

If you’re finding your current selection of jeans and trousers a little tiresome, this pattern could be the perfect antidote. The Juliana Martejevs Quinn Pants are on-trend trousers that sit at the natural waist, are loose at the hip and thigh, and taper towards the ankle. They have the all-important denim detailing you could hope for including a zip fly, front pockets, and belt loops. They also have a video tutorial which can be handy when sewing something a bit more detailed.

If you are partial to a pullover and have a pile of scraps building up, this project could float your boat! The unique seamlines in both the front and back provide opportunities to colour block and personalise your garment. The pattern also comes with regular and full bust patterns so if you usually adjust for a fuller bust, you might not need to. The Itch to Stitch Boalsburg Pullover is finished off with a cosy funnel neck and optional drawstring which gives it an athleisure feel.

We’ve had two new Kylie & the Machine woven labels arrive – both perfect for your 2024 makes. If you like to keep track of when you made a garment, the Circa 2024 labels are a great finisher. Who knows, in 50 years someone may marvel at the date your garment was sewn and treasure it all the more! If you are trying to sew capsules (such as for seasons or holidays), the Capsule Collection labels will tie your creations together.

Great news gang! The Friday Pattern Company Bernadette Skirt is now available in paper format in addition to the PDF option. Bernadette is pleated in the front, darted in the back, and has two length options: mini and midi. Best of all, it features a super fun belt bag! I’d love to make one of these this year.

We’ve been busy bees adding the Sew Over It digital back catalogue to the shop. There are some fab pieces to sew for spring, whether you are looking for something on-trend, everyday or with vintage vibes, we have plenty of options to choose from.

You’ll also find Sew Over It paper patterns in the sale.

Bargain hunters… Butterick is having a 50% off sale on everything! We have women’s, men’s and children’s sewing patterns – all at a very good price. The sale ends on Sunday the 3rd of March, so don’t forget to take a look before then!
