Buy the Baby/Child/Teen Cato Coat and Bomber Jacket sewing pattern from WISJ Designs. Cato is a versatile pattern for a coat or jacket with raglan sleeves and pockets tucked away in the front. Make the long version for a classier coat or make a cool bomber jacket with cuffs. Choose a simple lining or go for a neater finish with a facing and lining. Choose a hood (with or without a drawstring) to go with your bomber jacket or if you want to make a raincoat. Or choose a simple neckband. You can make Cato as complicated or as simple as you like: sew a full option coat or sew a simple jacket!

Suggested fabrics: Cato can be made from non-stretch fabrics such as canvas, oilskin, cotton or softshell for a jacket or raincoat. But you can also choose french terry, corduroy or a knitted fabric for a bomber jacket. For the lining you can use viscose, but also teddy for an extra warm jacket or just jersey to line your bomber jacket. Ribbing for the cuffs and bands.

Fabric requirements: 

140 cm (1.5 yd) wide fabric: Main fabric and lining – short coat, 80 – 150 cm (32″ – 60″) // Main fabric and lining – long coat, 90 – 175 cm (36″ – 70″) // Main fabric and lining – hood, 30 – 40 cm (12″ – 16″).

Ribbing for waistband, cuffs and neckband: 100 cm (1 yd) wide ribbing: 20 – 40 cm (8″ – 16″).

Sizing: 1 – 14 years. Please check the size chart and finished garment measurements.

Notions: Separating zipper; drawstring, eyelets and wonder dots for hood; bias tape for hanging loop, 11 cm (4″) long; strip of fusible interfacing for the zipper flap.
