Sew Reporter – Sunday 13th March
Happy Sunday team! How’s your sewing going? We’ve got some excellent pattern reviews to share with you this week from some star makers. If you’ve never left a sewing pattern review on the site, we’d love to hear from you! This video will help you set up a profile so you can share your makes.
We’ve got pockets on the brain this week, so have shared a couple of things to read and listen to if you are also someone who appreciates a good pocket. We’ve also written a blog post rounding up our top 10 indie easy trouser sewing patterns that is worth a gander. Have a wonderful Sunday whatever you are doing!
There is one maker that seems to be able to transform any textile into something glorious and that’s Raph! It was one of the things we loved the most about his work on the Sewing Bee, and have appreciated even more since the show ended. Raph’s latest creation turns some vintage Mexican rugs into a stunning Sienna Maker Jacket by Closet Core Patterns. When a friend asked if he could turn rugs into a garment he stepped up to the challenge and delivered! Raph added an extra special touch to this make by using an old Guatemalan rug that had been handed down to him through my family many years ago. This make is everything we need right now. A splash of zingy colour to signify spring is with us! We adore Laura’s Heather Blazer by Friday Pattern Company and so does she! Laura said “I love everything about this blazer. Not just the finished garment, but the whole making process” in her five-star review.
