Sew Reporter – 28th March

It’s Sunday and we’ve had a busy week here at Fold Line HQ. We launched our new shop where you can now search patterns much more easily from the homepage by garment type or by designer. We’ve divided up the patterns into helpful categories including womenswear, menswear, baby/ child/ teen and accessories. For garments such as dresses you can now search using lots of different style and shapes, for example midi length with short sleeves or smock with pockets! We have been adding updates to the new search function all week so please make sure you are seeing the most recent version of the website by clearing you cache. We hope you find it much easier to search for patterns now using garment descriptions that you might find in high street shops. Do let us know what you think by emailing [email protected]. Now back to this week and all the inspiration you could need to set you up for a weekend of sewing!

Fiona at Diary Of A Chainstitcher made a True Bias Roscoe blouse in a gorgeous embroidered organza. We particularly love all the pretty details, including this tuck Fiona added to the sleeves.

Coco from Coco’s loft turned to Pinterest for spring sewing inspiration and ended up creating this dotty dress using the Lisa Dress by Tessuti patterns. Isn’t it lovely?!

Wow, this version of the very popular McCall’s 7969 looks sooo dreamy! It looks absolutely gorgeous on Raven – who blogs as Raven Maureen.

This is THE perfect spring dress! Melinda from All The Little Happy Things paired this super pretty linen gingham with the Peppermint Peplum Dress and it’s a match made in heaven.

This is Beck’s – at I Sew Therefore I Am – 4th pair of Sew Liberated Arthur Pants and this time she sewed them up in a denim. We only have one word for this outfit: perfection!

This is the loveliest Friday Pattern Company Seabright Swimmer we ever did see. Check out Nicolle at Merritts Makes blog for a flutter sleeve tutorial so you can create this super cute swimsuit yourself!

The combination of Butterick 5428, McCall’s 7443, and this fabulous fabric equals a show stopping outfit! Check out Erica Bunker’s blog for more amazing photos.

Meg aka Cookin’ & Craftin’ made not 1, not 2, but 3 pairs of Muna & Broad Glebe Pants. Pop over to her blog to see all her versions side by side.

Holly stitched the Friday Pattern Company Adriana Dress and reviewed the pattern on our site. We adore the result; the fabric is a great choice, the colour looks amazing on Holly, and well… statement sleeves!

OH LA LA we’ve added the most delicious selection of patterns to our shop this week! This is just a small selection of them, so don’t forget to browse all the NEW patterns here.

Do you already have a specific design in mind? Or do you need some help finding the perfect pattern for your fabric? You can search all the patterns in our database using our sewing-specific search tool.

One of our favourite sewing bloggers; Raven Maureen started a YouTube channel! She already posted a few pattern revieuws and we can’t wait to see more.

This Instagram challenge by Friday Pattern company looks like a lot of fun! And totally manageable too, as it’s only on for one week. So… Who’s in? Find more info about #FridaySewtacular on Instagram.

Loaded with interesting details and interchangeable features, it will fast become a wardrobe building favourite. All the heart eyes for this beautiful Helen’s Closet March dress. It’s made by Sara SJ Kim @yoursara_k and we looove how she added a contrasting panel to her dress. Her whole Instagram feed is filled with gorgeous clothes (and gorgeous fabrics) so if you’re looking for sewing inspiration, you know what to do…

Ensemble patterns have been a part of The Fold Line family for a while and we’re so happy to have these beautiful designs in our pattern collection. Celina is based in Canada and her aim is to design comfy, stylish, and easy to wear clothes. We think this is the perfect description of her patterns because we would love to wear Ensemble garments 7 days a week, wether we are staying at home or going out. Check out the rest of Celina’s patterns in our shop, you won’t be disappointed!

Come and join our sewing Facebook group where we are chatting about sewing plans, new patterns and helping each other out with projects.
