Sew Reporter – 2 June

Wow what a fantastic weekend of great weather! We hope you managed to get outside and enjoy some long awaited sun. This week on the blog we had the new sewing pattern releases from May go catch up on all the latest indie releases from the last month. Right it’s time to sit back and enjoy this weekends Sew Reporter.

Lauren of Lladybird made the ever so fabulous Magnolia dress by Deer and Doe. She opted for the shorter version with flutter sleeves and it looks stunning in this bold flowery print!

Might this be the coolest shirt we ever did see?! Nicole of Merritts Makes stitched the Marilla Walker Isca Shirt and we love how the front yoke is really standing out because of the different prints!

Manju of Sewmanju has once again nailed it with her amazing polka dot dress and impeccable styling! She used a vintage Simplicity pattern 8719, this might be a vintage design but this dress is bang on trend!

This fabulous outfit makes us want to make the Julien Jacket by Ready To Sew even more! Bianca of Sleepless in Bavaria used denim to sew it up and it turned out so good!

We think Alexis of Alexis Bailey couldn’t have picked a better fabric for her Meridian Dress by Papercut Patterns! Such a gorgeous outfit and it suits her SO well!

Yup, another pattern added to our to-sew list! Holly of That’s Sew Peachy made the Amelia Jacket by Sew Over It in a chunky corduroy and we might just want to copy her idea!

Tilly aka Tilly And The Buttons used Rifle Paper Co. canvas to make herself a Cleo pinafore with eyelets to tie the straps. SO CUTE!

Another amazing jacket this week! This one is made by Katie of What Katie Sews and she went for the Lysimaque Patterns’ Nénuphar jacket in a lilac twill. Swoon!

These trousers are THA BOMB! Mie from Sewing Like Mad stitched the Thea Pants by Style Arc and we are digging it!

Isn’t everything better in a stripey fabric! We adore this Taylor Dress by Designer Stitch made by Cherry from Going To Need Stitches. It’s made in a knit fabric so it’s super comfortable, but those sleeves make it look très chic!

Take a look at all the new fabrics, haberdashery and kits from sewing businesses this week…

The brand new collection from Atelier Brunette is drool worthy and we can’t even pick a favourite because they’re all so gorgeous! You can browse them at Lamazi Fabrics!

The combination of linen and viscose is a match made in heaven if you ask us! It has a beautiful drape due to the viscose and the linen content means that it will be perfect for the warmer weather. We're currently dreaming up culottes in this fabulous stripey fabric from Sew Me Sunshine!

We spotted this beautiful light-weight dress fabric at Higgs and Higgs! It has a slight stretch across the grain and a crepe finish. These colours are just so pretty together!

This beautiful bright blue floral print from Fabrics Galore is perfect for spring and summer. It’s a Liberty London cotton tana lawn and it’s a very lightweight fabric, soft to the touch and we can vouch that it’s a dream to sew with this fabric!

This vibrant, yet tonal colour way of blues and greens is exceptional and we totally want to make a shirtdress with this double gauze from The Draper's Daughter!

Lovers of all shades of pink can always count on Pink Coat Club for cute designs and sewing must-haves. And these beauties are on sale too, so now is the time to surprise your sewing wife!

Are we right in thinking that just about every seamstress has a pair of those stork scissors? Keep them and other 4 inch scissors safe and sound in these beautiful hand crafted leather cases from Beyond Measure!

Instead of covering yourself in a classic leopard print, cover yourself with pink leopards that are on the hunt in this amazing colourful jungle! We're in love with this jersey from Fabric Godmother!

Look at these cool flamingo’s that are just casually hanging out! We spotted this organic cotton at Cloth Candy and apart from the flamingo’s we love the use of these beautiful vibrant colours all together.

As from tomorrow you get your chance to sign up for next months surprise sewing box from Sew Hayley Jane! There’s a different theme each month with lots of different goodies so there’s something for everyone!

This super pretty flowery fabric from Girl Charlee is a cotton spandex jersey and we can totally imagine it as a swooshy summer dress that also counts as #SecretPyjamas!

Did you know that there are lots of different pins available? There are pins for different types of garments and pins for different types of projects too. These pins from Lulou Designs are made by Tulip in Japan and we love how they are described as the Rolls Royce of pins!

This black and white printed cotton jersey from Sew Over It would make such a good wardrobe staple! We would like to sew up a nice top or a simple dress with it (with added pockets of course!).

The design of this cotton lawn fabric from Cloth Spot is divine! It’s screaming to be made into a pretty party frock!

Now this is want we want to wear all summer long! It's a 2 piece pattern from New Look and it's so versatile and easy to combine, we could not love this more!

We keep a handy list of sewing events, exhibitions and meet ups happening in the sewing community all over the world on our sewing social calendar here.

Come and join our sewing Facebook group where we are chatting about sewing plans, new patterns and helping each other out with projects.
