Marie Kondo your sewing space and Me Made May

I’ve been wanting to do a little video about organising your sewing space for a while. Having really enjoyed watching Marie Kondo’s show on Nextflix  I saw a couple of her ideas for clothes storage that I would would be fantastic for our sewing space. They a really simple ideas but ones I implemented a few months ago and found really helpful so thought you might too.

I’m also showing  you the ‘before’ of my office/sewing room, as I start to thing about how I want to make it look. Alongside this I’m chatting over my Me Made May plans and what I’m hoping to achieve in the month ahead.

  1. Hello, great post. How are you going to print out the Zadie pattern? I am almost loath to start cause it’s going to take so long to construct it. Would appreciate any insight you can share.

  2. I vote for the dress for the large red dot fabric. In part because of the traits of the fabric you mention (very lightweight, somewhat sheer, wrinkles), as it will not take the strain of pants as easily and having done something similar I regretted it. I think it would make up as that dress really well and you could find a better choice for the jumpsuit. Also it’s easier to put a slip with a dress, if needed. Thanks for reminding me of the Marie Kondo ideas too, I also watched it on Netflix. Great post!

  3. I’m with Anne K – go for the dress for the red dot fabric not the jumpsuit. Not only for the reasons you & Anne have mentioned but also because there’s risk of large red dots ending up in places you may not want them on a jumpsuit eg bottom & crotch in particular.
Thanks for showing new way to store fabric !
