Last weekend we went fabric shopping on a mini sewing adventure to Paris, France. Check out our fabric haul vlog. We visited the Creations Savoir Fair or ‘make it yourself’ exhibition in association with Marie Claire. We discovered sewing pattern designers we’d not seen before alongside loads of new fabric businesses and very successfully topped up our fabric stash!

Check out our video to see the fabric we purchased and also for a tour of the show to see what sewing fairs are like in France. The dressmaking fabrics were such good quality and in lovely colours. We saw familiar stands from Atelier Brunette, I AM Patterns, Louis Antoinette and Les Republique du Chiffon plus new sewing companies such as Les Patronnes Couture and Coralie Bijasson Creations.

I loved the fabrics you bought – do you remember which companies you bought them from? I live in France now so it would be great to have a reference point. I’m still at the rebeginning of sewing and am ridiculously cautious having already made stupid rookie mistakes – it doesn’t help that I have to resurrect my decomposed school French (another rebeginning) ;).

Hello @ecureuil Thank you! I got the quilted blue fabric from Anna Ka Bazaar and the black and gold spot fabric plus sparkly ribbing from Un Chat Sur Un Fil. I’ll check with Rachel where she got her fabrics from. Kate.
