Loudres Cropped Jacket

This is a great pattern for those who, like me, haven’t make many jackets before but want to try a fully-lined and stylish garment. It’s actually the Lourdes Jacket (rather than Loudres which The Foldline have mis-spelt!) The cropped and loose style mean that there is not much fitting involved – I was able to cut a straight size 10 without any adjustments needed. There is also nothing too complicated in the construction other than the dolphin hem sleeves which look lovely but are slightly fiddly. Similarly the pockets which look impressive, are actually fake and super easy. The pattern is really well explained on the whole, and has some many lovely details, there are a few areas which I had to practice but I’d really recommend this pattern. As with many Named Clothing Patterns just remember to add seam allowance to the traced pattern! For more pics etc. take a look at my blog www.gingerstitch.com/dressmaking/lourdes
